Rozett Reunion 2025

I am providing this temporary blog as a means of making information available to those attending the Rozett Reunion 2025.  For strangers that may chance upon this blog, Arthur and Frances Rozett had six offspring.  Those offspring had 29 children between them.  This group of first cousins gets together on an irregular basis for a reunion.  The 2025 event will be located in York, Maine.

The Rozett Reunion 2025 is scheduled for:

the week of September 14th thru 21st  in 2025.

The location is a rental property at 53 Ocean Avenue in York, Maine.

Check In: Sunday, September 14 at 3:30 pm
Check out: Sunday, September 21, 2025 at 9:30 am

 The Venue

The venue is known as Sand and Surf.  It has 13 bedrooms, six bathrooms, a gorgeous porch, and totals about 5,000 square feet.

Tom, Rich, and  Summer are first come/first served for the King bedrooms (2, 6, 10)

Paul, Bob F., Steve, Johnny, and Bob R.  are first come/first served for the Queen bedrooms (3, 4, 7, 12, & 13)

Bruce bedroom 1

Spare bedrooms 5, 8, 9, and 11.

 The Cost

I have shown the charges for the venue below.

We currently have nine (9) occupied rooms and four spare rooms.  So I took the deposit of $7,401.24 (due 4/4) and divided by 9.  That is $825 per room.

The $2k is damage deposit and I will let that sit on my card until the reunion.

The balance of $7.290.48 is due by June 24th.   Divided by 9 rooms is $810 per room.

I would appreciate funds in the amount of $825 in the near future from each room holder.

I would appreciate funds in the amount of $810 by June 24th.

Checks, cash, Venmo, and PayPal are all options.

We have four empty bedrooms that are available for anyone wishing to stay over for only a night or two.  They would be $233 per night per room.  Unfortunately, they are all twin beds (two per room). Any funds from them would be redistributed back to the original nine room holders.

Travel Information

If you are flying into the reunion, here is some travel advice.

It is best to fly into Boston's Logan Airport (BOS) or into Manchester New Hampshire, aka the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT).  Boston is a much busier airport and the traffic in and around Logan is horrendous.  Manchester, on the other hand, is not crowded and the exit from the airport to the highways is very easy.

Logan is about a 1 hour 20 minute drive to the venue.  You will want to look for signs leading you to Interstate 95 North.  This is a toll road in both New Hampshire and Maine.

Manchester is only one hour from the venue.  You will want to follow signs to Interstate 293 leading to Route 101 East.  Again these are toll roads.

It is also possible to  fly into Portland International Jetport (PWM).  It is located about 45 miles north of our venue.  It would be about a 50 minute drive.

FYI: I live about 15 minutes south of the Manchester Airport.  If you need a lift, please call.  If you have an overnight layover (or want to stay another week), you are welcome to stay with me.

To get to the venue:

From Boston's Logan Airport:  Look for signs for Interstate 95 North.  Stay on I95 through New Hampshire into Maine. About  one hour.  Once in Maine, take Exit 7.  Stay Right off the ramp onto Spur Road.  Immediately get in the left lane.  Turn Left at the light on US 1 North.  Stay on US1 for 2.5 miles.  Turn right on Short Sands Road.  In about 1/4 mile turn Left on Ridge Road.  At the end, turn Right on Church St.  Look for US 1A and turn Left.  Long Beach Avenue is US 1A.  In a short distance, it will swing to the left.  The venue is on the left.

From Manchester's MHT Airport:  Follow the signs to exit the airport.  This is Airport Road.  After the rotary you will get to a light.  Go straight onto Brown Avenue.  Follow Brown Ave (rt 3A) for 1.5 miles.  Stay in the right lane and look for signs for Interstate 293/RT101 East.  Take that ramp on to I293.  Stay in the left lanes.  In about 2 miles, follow the signs for I93N/Rt 101E.  Stay on I93 North about 2 miles to Exit 7 onto Rt101 East. Stay on Rt 101 East for 31 miles and exit onto I 95 North.  Go through the Hampton Toll onto I95 North. On I95 North, cross the river into Maine.

Local Cannabis Information

Cannabis  is legal for medical and recreational use in Massachusetts.

In New Hampshire, Cannabis is illegal for recreational use and decriminalized for possession of up to three-quarters of an ounce (21 g) as of July 18, 2017.   Medical use is legal through legislation passed in 2013.

Cannabis is legal in Maine. As provided in the Marijuana Legalization Act and the Maine Medical Use of Marijuana Act, eligible persons can use marijuana for medical and recreational purposes.  Legally, adults aged 21 or older can share up to 2.5 ounces of processed marijuana and six immature cannabis plants or seedlings without remuneration.  The state imposes a 10% sales tax on retail dispensaries but exempts medical cannabis patients from paying taxes.

The nearest dispensary to the reunion venue is a medical only dispensary.  It requires a Maine-issued card.  There are several dispensaries in nearby Kittery, Maine that cater to both medical and recreational users.

If you need more information, please don't ask me because I have no knowledge.

Local tidbits:

The Cape Neddick Light is a lighthouse located only 1.7 miles from our venue.  Known more popularly as Nubble Light, it sits on a small island only 100 yards from shore.  It is not accessible to the public.   Built in 1874 for $15,000, and put into use in 1879. It is still in use today.  The tower is lined with brick and sheathed with cast iron.  It stands 41 feet tall, but the light is actually 88 feet above sea level because of the additional height of the steep rocky islet on which it sits.  There is a park, gift shop, and large parking lot nearby.

Perkin's Cove is a quaint fishing village in Ogunquit , only six (6) miles from our venue.  It is an enclave of artist's shops and restaurants that is quite the tourist attraction.  You can can catch numerous lobster and fishing boats that are for hire and bring in your own seafood.  If you are not into that, there are a number of excellent eateries in and approaching the village.  Once you eat, you can stroll The Marginal Way,  a 1.25-mile cliff walk along the craggy Ogunquit coastline.  It is one of New England’s most scenic and beloved coastal walking trails. A gentle meandering paved footpath it winds past historic homes and hotels on one side and along the dramatic rocky shoreline on the other. Originally built in the 1920s.
